Recently, I was shocked and horrified when I came across a story on Stuff.co.nz.

Maybe some of you are already familiar with it. It made me cry my eyes out. Why would anyone want to torture a cat and skin it alive? It is one of the most disturbing cases of animal cruelty I have ever come across.

What made it worse was the fact that these three men who comitted this heinous act were allowed to continue screening their documentary at the Toronto Film Fest (despite protests) and gained publicity and a platform for themselves.

Have we really come to this? Have we degenerated so much...? What about our so called humanity?

Maybe one of the reasons I was so affected by this is because I have a cat myself and I adore him. He was a stray that I adopted and can't imagine life without him. The thought of another stray cat meeting such a fate is too terrible to imagine.
