Abstract: A beautiful setting in Tuscany, a beautiful Girlfriend in Diane Lane and a wonderful director in Audrey Wells propped up by a wonderful Italian crew and supporting actors adds up to a gorgeous movie.

Who among us has not had to go through a difficult breakup? A long-term relationship, or worse, a short-term fling still in that "honeymoon/puppy love" period?

This movie traces the steps that a well known writer has to stumble through on her way back to happiness. The initial shock and sadness lead to depression in a short-term rental furnished apartment with similar souls. A chance event happens and she finds herself on the way to Italy, land of smooth-talking gentlemen and spectacular landscapes, where as they say, the rest is history.

Diane Lane gives a strong performance as Frances, dragging us along with her for the ride as she emerges from her haggard shell to blossom into an icon resembling a swarm of "ladybugs", you'll see the reference.

I am about ready to pack my bags and head off to Tuscany in search for a fixer-upper villa after viewing this wonderfully shot reel of film.

The movie is necessarily filled with cliches, and although Audrey Wells, the director, tries to avoid following typical Hollywood formula, there's not much room outside the lines. She succeeds in some parts, especially where Frances can't stop giggling after Marcello (gorgeous hunk Raoul Bova) says to her that he'd like to swim in her beautiful eyes, better than the typical swooning that more formulaic movies would have written into the scene.

Bravo for the cinematography and the setting, and the great casting, especially Vincent Riotta as the kind soul who sells Frances the villa and ends up being her pillar of strength.

Yes, I agree that there is a great message in this movie, that we should never wallow in our own misery. The director delivers the message kindly, most of the time, and the impact is thus stronger.

Don't go see this movie looking for a deep storyline, it's a feel-good flick that can help form a good baseline strategy for recovery to any Girlfriend in the world.
