Abstract: Provocative and fun thriller from Dan Brown.

Harvard symbol expert, Robert Langdon, is abruptly awoken from his Paris hotel room to help investigate the murder of the Louvre's chief curator. Robert is stunned at the murder scene when he sees that the victim had placed himself, in his dying moments, symbolically as a Da Vinci painting - complete with gruesome clues.

Brilliant cryptographer Sophie Neveu(the victim's granddaughter), cleverly foils police on the scene when she discovers that Langdon has been fingered as the chief suspect - which she knows is a political coverup.

Being chased by the French police, the two find themselves on an adventure from France to England where they unravel the hidden clues left by her grandfather - clues which they hope to lead them to his true murderer.

While deciphering the symbols, they discover the secrets of a clandestine society which may lead them to the hiding place of the Holy Grail and the truth to Sophie's family.

This thriller from Dan Brown is fast paced and a great read. The plot moves very quickly and the constant symbology explanations and enigmatic riddles are stimulating. Brown's research and exploration of religious and cultural mysteries provides the reader with engrossing interpretations of historical ideas.

Also available in illustrated format.

I feel the title is missleading. I like the story up to the point of Jesus being married. I found the religous symbology facinating.
