i just went to see mcconaghey and parker is this very cute, goofy movie (with requisite 'deep', dramatic climax where they have to hate each other before they can love each other). i have no idea if it has been loved by many or few or none at all but i quite liked it. there were some goofier (some might say bordering on dumb) scenes, but i'm ok with cheesy stuff so i like them... but be forewarned.
the supporting characters were fun and funny, the relationship between the leads was sweet and plausible, and the premise kept things interesting. i would have liked for them to go more into the steps of pushing guys out of the nest and having parker's character take mcconaghey through them, but, alas, it is a romantic comedy and the new rules dictate that the characters must fall in love verrrry quickly to keep the movie under 1.5 hours or... who knows...
it seemed like a few loose ends never got quite tied or perhaps just not addressed to my satisfaction, but in general i quite enjoyed myself.
