This scent smells a lot like very irresistable but with a more vanilla. The original was better but this is still good if you're into vanilla fragrances.

I wanted to adore this scent--truly I did, but somehow the notes never took off in the way I anticipated them to. The much needed warmth of vanilla is cancelled out by the anise and the intense grassiness of verbena engulfs the whole fragrance.
To me, rose is such a strong, distinctive smell that it needs to be contrasted with a smooth, creamy and/or woodsy base in order to smell "balanced". Which all leads me too utter confusion over "Irresistible": It should've worked--and how! However, in my opinion, it honestly doesn't. Somehow the patchouli ends up too animalic and the grassiness of the verbena--too overpowering. To be fair, there is a distinct freshness to both Givenchy "Irresistible" scents...but the oily, tea-ish beauty of older rose fragrances is lost on new scents such as Stella and these new Givenchys. The old adage "To each his own" is definately applicable to this scent.
May you have better body-chemistry-luck with your testing!
