Abstract: A mediocre comedy with a few laugh out loud moments

What a great comedic concept! What an amazing cast! How was this not the summer's best comedy? Unfortunately, Wedding Crashers never really get off the ground; dengrating into unnecessary sentimentality or just plain old unfunny scenarios.

Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn are perfectly cast here as two aging casanovas whose M. O. is to crash weddings and pick up bridesmaids and other attractive wedding attendees. In an unfortunate plot miscalculation, John (Owen Wilson) falls for the engaged Claire (Rachel McAdams). I'm reminded of how much better the remake of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels was than it's predessor, in removing the romance from the story. Surely there was no need to cater to the lowest common denominator here?

Christopher Walken plays Claire's father, turning in (unusually for him)a weak performance due to being given next to nothing in dialogue to work with. The only bright spots of the movie involve Wilson and Vaughn's priceless strategy conversations.
