Abstract: A horror/psycho-thriller that fails to horrify, thrill, or...well...much of anything really.

When I heard that Mindhunters borrowed liberally from the work of the grand dame of mystery Agatha Christie, I became intrigued and stopped by my local sixplex. Unfortunately for me, the characterization was woefully inaccurate as the film carefully avoided the cleverness and dark charm of Christie's work, degenerating instead into a sloppy imitation of the movie 'Seven'.

The premise is endearingly flimsy (which is about the only good thing I can muster up to say about the movie) - a cadre of FBI trainees embark for a training exercise on an uninhabited island, only to be picked off one by one by a serial killer. The killer obligingly leaves clues after each gruesome death, giving our youthful heroes the opportunity to put their FBI profiling book learnin' to good use.

Fans of Christian Slater and Val Kilmer will be grieved to see their guys in this train wreck of a movie
