Abstract: Bioepic of the infamous sex researcher Alfred C. Kinsey.
A very watchable film examining the life of entomologist turned sex researcher - Alfred C. Kinsey, played with his usual panache by Liam Neeson.
Dr. Kinsey is the original Dr. Ruth and a revolutionary figure in the study of human sexual behavior, whose work precipitated the 'free love' era of the late '60s, and is still influential today. The film encompasses Kinsey's life all the way from boyhood to the end of his life in 1956. Along the road to publishing his seminal works "Sexual Behavior in the Human Male" and "Sexual Behavior in the Human Female", and becoming a bit of a media darling, Kinsey and his wife (Played by Laura Linney)encounter McCarthyian Puritanism, academic opposition, and simple everyday sexual repression.
In the course of conducting their famous research surveys, Kinsey, his wife, and their research assistants unexpectedly discover much about their own sexual personalities.
A humorous and engaging movie, with a strong cast and excellent performances especially fromLaura Linney, who has been nominated for Best Supporting Actress Oscar.
