Fun and flirty
Spring is here, and it's time to soften those day look shades a tad, without sacrificing bold and fresh color. Not just for redheads, this fresh look is wonderful for a day of shopping or a Sunday brunch with friends. All eye colors will be enhanced with an exotic tint by the beautiful light emerald hue of the shadow.

1. Use a pencil brush (E) to apply a strong coat of emerald green shadow along the upper lashes. This will provide reinforced color against lashes.

2. Use a small to medium eyeshadow brush to apply the green shadow to entire lid.
3. Extend slightly further on the outer edge but don't go too far off course as it may come off looking garish.
4. Also extend color right into inner edge as well. Try using a pencil brush (E) for this. Soften edges slightly but don't blend too much.
5. Soften edges slightly but don't blend too much.

6. Use a pale yellow (or shimmery cream) colored pencil to apply color to inner and upper lash line.
7. Also add to inner corner as well.

8. Use a black eyeliner or a wedge (D) brush and black shadow to apply a thin line to the outer corner of the eye. This is a subtle way to add a little shape and definition on the edges.
9. Apply a coat of black mascara.

10. Apply a soft taupe colored blush to apples of the cheeks.
11. Also try to add some highlight to your face. Use a little highlighter gel to the areas shown, on both sides of the face.
12. You want to blend very well as you want to create a shimmer effect.

13. Apply a shade darker color of eyebrow color to eyebrows for some definition.
14. And lastly the lips. Try a soft rosy-taupe color to offset the look. Use a lip conditioner first for that extra condition and shine.

The best thing about today's makeup trend is that there are really no specific colors that are passe or tacky. The key is to customize your palette for your specific coloring - especially skin tone, and to apply your makeup carefully and with a mind to your hairstyle, clothing, season and time of day.

Feel free to explore all the colours of the rainbow to discover one that will "pop" your eyes, and make you feel fabulous! As fun as this look is, it's not for every skin type. It works great for lighter and darker complexions but people with a lot of yellow in their skin should avoid it.
