PRETTY AND SWEET
I’m very excited that the color coral is fashionable for summer. It’s beautiful, and looks good on just about everyone. Coral gives the wearer a warm, youthful glow, making everybody look pretty.
As a feminine color, don’t expect coral to look edgy or racy. Coral is probably not the best choice for business attire if you want to exude confidence and assertiveness. It is a sweet, not strength, color. Coral is lovely for skirts, dresses, bathing suits, and floral prints.
WHERE TO GET IT
Coral is pretty much everywhere this summer, but here are a few ideas to get you started:
Shoes:
Nine West, Unisa, Hush Puppies, Liz Claiborne.
Clothing:
Banana Republic, Old Navy, H&M, Naughty, Dillards, RW&Co, Dex, Espirit, Bebe.
ADVENTUROUS CORAL
Big - very big jewelry pieces are all the rage for summer, usually crowned with large shell pieces, often coral. Entire necklaces are sometimes pieced together using various sizes the vibrant stuff. When I first tried one on (see www.pinkpoppie.com) I was confused as to how to sit it on me, let alone what to wear with it! However, after a few wardrobe tests, that big beautiful coral necklace really grew on me. The safest wardrobe choices to compliment coral are anything very simple, to keep accessories and clothing from clashing. The more adventurous amongst you might try an outfit such as a coral necklace with a plain tank top and a coral accented, multi-colored peasant skirt. I advise wearing your hair up as mine got painfully snagged on my necklace many times. Let the necklace be the focal point of your ensemble.
SHADES OF CORAL
Coral is also the latest and greatest color as makeup for eyes, cheeks and lips (Careful: not all at once!). Again, it’s pretty, sweet, and feminine on just about anyone. Most cosmetics lines carry at least one piece of coral-colored makeup. ‘Benefit’, ‘MAC’, ‘Lancome’, and ‘Cover Girl’ have some especially nice shades.
So, ladies, I suggest you get out there and corral yourself some coral – jewelry, clothing, makeup, it’s all good.
