BOOTIES ARE YOUR FRIEND
I’ve always liked booties for a few reasons:
• they make ankles appear slimmer and legs longer.
I'm really not sure why legs look longer, but mine just always do. See how they make yours look.
• They’re extremely versatile: great for knee-length skirts, short skirts, capri pants, trousers, jeans, and dresses.
• They are best casual or funky, but are versatile enough to be dressy or classy. If the booties are shiny, have fake fur or sequins on them, laden with metallic embossing, etc. they will look great dressy. Or, more likely, they are seen in leather, velvet, velour, two-toned, tweed, etc. to go with casual wear.
• I find them to be more comfortable than any high heels. The extra material over the front of the foot provides greater stability.

BOOTIE-LICIOUS
Looking through fashion magazines, I found that almost every outfit paired with the booties involved a knee length skirt… and they look great, but I think I’d like to look beyond them. Mini-skirts and tights look great with booties, as would a sexy dress or a pair of tweed capri pants and a blazer. There are no specific tops that would complete a dressy or casual bootie outfit, just make sure that casual tops go with casual booties, and so on. Pretty standard stuff ;)
My very comfortable, very versatile black leather booties are made by Mia (Macy’s or The Bay). I like to wear them with a mini-skirt, black turtlenecks, and bright tights. Another fave is paiting with jeans, a vintage t-shirt, and cute socks (as they’re likely to be seen when I sit).
BOOTIE HUNTING
I found many highly varied and beautiful styles from Louis Vuitton. Chanel and Gucci are two other couture designers who make booties, though not as nice and less selection. For most of us regular folk, Nine West, Kenneth Cole, and Max Mara are a few brands that have great booties. And, if you feel like spoiling yourself: Jimmy Choo… mmm… Jimmy Choo.
So, ladies, get your bootys out to the stores to pick up some of these "bumps" (c’mon, work with me… it catchy!).
