Autumn Basic (10 Minute Look)
A makeup look for those days when you're short on time, but still want to look your best. Autumn Basic might be a good choice for when you don't want to appear too eager with a dramatic makeup look; it's soft, pretty, natural looking, and great for on-the-go.

Browns may seems a trifle pedestrian these days, what with all the fun, funky, 'Impact' colors all the rage right now, but remember that brown is a classic tried and true color that complements all eye colors and when applied correctly will never look tacky.

This look requires very few tools and colors. Vary the colors based on your skin tone but stay in the gereral tone of browns.

For best results, make sure to properly cleanse and moisturize your skin. Remove any previous eye makeup. Apply any foundation and powder as you normally would.

1. Use a large flat eye shadow brush (F)to apply a nice soft taupe color (I) over the entire lid. We used "Wedge" by MAC.
2. Make sure to blend the edges well.

3. Use a small angled brush (D) to apply a soft line of the same taupe color underneath the eye. Start from the outer corner and taper off when nearing the inside corner.
4. Blend well with the outer edge of the upper lid.
5. Curl lashes if necessary and apply a coat of brown/black mascara.

6. Next the lips. Apply a good lip conditioner all over the lips (C). Use a good balm like Vaseline, not chapstick types which can be waxy.
7. Once it has absorbed a little, line the lips with a cinnamon colored lip pencil (B). We used "Spice" by MAC
8. Fill in the rest of the lips with the liner and blend together.

9. The key to this look is blush. Applying it last helps you decide how much to use to balance with the rest of your look. Apply a nice warm pink beige colored blush (G) with a blush brush (E). This will add color and contour to your face.
10. When applying the blush, you're going for a nice warm and natural look. Start from the ear and stroke down to the apples of the cheeks.
11. Remember you can always add more blush so start light and blend well.
That's it, you're done!

This is a super easy, quick autumn look for everyday. It will look fairly natural while really accenting your features. Since there are relatively few tools and colors, it is great for express application. Note: This is not an optimal look for darker skin tones with colors suggested - try using darker tones of brown.

Next week, we'll take a look at creating a nice smoky eyes look. It's a good basic version to start with, being very clean and not too dramatic.
